Video Update!!

Hello Family and Friends!

Greetings in the Precious name of our LORD, Jesus Christ! I hope this update finds you all well. I know that with the COVID-19 epidemic still going, God can seem so far away. As James 4:8 says, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” God is always there for us. He has not left us. Let us draw near to our Heavenly Father and openly worship our personal savior, Jesus Christ!

By now you have been made aware of Barakel not hosting campers for the summer. (More details can be found here: https://vimeo.com/419680178) I must say, that with Camp Barakel not having summer camp this year, it grieves my heart. My heart aches for the camp, mainly for the little children that will not hear the Gospel at Camp Barakel this year. Also, this may be the last year for some of the high schoolers. They will not be able to attend another week long camp as a senior. It hurts to have to shut the camp doors for the summer. Founded in 1942, I believe this is the first time in 78 years that campers will not be headed to Camp Barakel for the summer. Please be in prayer for all the families affected, for Camp Barakel, the staff, and all the summer seasonal staff that were supposed to serve but now cannot.

We are still raising support to get to Camp Barakel, and currently have 87% of what we need. God has continued to provide for our needs, even in these uncertain times. It does not look like we will reach our goal of moving to Camp in May, but we know God’s timing is always right. Even with summer camp being cancelled, there is still plenty of work to do at Barakel. There are plenty of leaves to rake, buildings to clean, maintenance to be done, and new menus to be planned. We are still very much needed at Barakel, and trust that God will get us there soon. Thank you all for your continued prayers. We are thankful for each and every one of you!

The following video is something our Pastor and his wife (Curt and Kelly Wilson) put together to update our church on our progress. I hope you enjoy it!

  2. First of all let me say how proud I am of all of you for wanting to serve the Lord at Camp and for following and leading in His calling and the fact that you’re my nephew. I couldn’t be more happier for you to know that you’re going to be living at Camp and helping to spread the Gospel and sharing the love of Jesus Christ to all who attend there God will provide that last 13% in His perfect timing just continue to trust in Him and His perfect will. I’d have loved to serve full time at Camp but God had other plans for me I’m still trying to see what that is but I know that I can still come serve as a volunteer in the future I can’t think of a better place to live and serve the Lord then at Camp Barakel I will be continuing to lift your family up in my prayers and will be there to help see you off as you leave for Camp I love you all
