As the title says, Rita and I are currently sitting at 16.41% of our needed support level to get to Camp Barakel. It has been amazing to watch God work so far in this 16.41%. He has come through for us and I know He will continue to deliver. So here is a story I want to share with you.
Last Friday, on October 4th, I was on my way to work at 5:30 AM. I usually listen to Smile FM while I’m driving, but lately I have purposed to spend that time in prayer. There I was in my car, praying and driving. This particular prayer, I was talking to God about how awesome and amazing it would be if He brought us another “Partner in the Ministry.” I told God this would really make my day. Rita was soon to be heading up to Ladies Retreat for the weekend as a camper with 9 ladies from our church, and this would be exciting news to share with her. So around 9 AM, a friend on Facebook, one that I haven’t had much of a relationship with, reached out to me. We just became friends within the last couple of months. He reached out and said, “Hey Dave. Just wanted to let you know that we will be able to support you as a missionary to Camp Barakel, for $X.xx/ month.” AMAZING! God answered that prayer quickly! I could not text Rita fast enough to let her know who it was, and, more importantly, about my prayer. My day was made. Rita was really excited to share the news with some of the ladies on her way North.
Matthew 7:7 says, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” We are living this right now. We are trusting God and taking Jesus at His word that our needs are going to be met for Camp. Speaking of our needs…
Rita and I would love for you to partner with us in this mission. Camp Barakel is an amazing place that has encouraged countless lives. God continually uses Camp Barakel to proclaim the Gospel of Christ and strengthen the faith of those who visit. Rita and I are desperately needed up there to manage the East Side Dining Hall. Would you prayerfully consider joining us in this ministry? Together we can see God change lives and the Gospel be spread through Christian camping! There is an immediate need for us there now, and though we can’t go yet, it would be especially helpful if we could be there by late spring so that we could serve during the summer camping season.
